Over the past few years, Martin Storey has become one of our favorite Rowan designers.  The creative mind behind the Rowan Classics line, Martin has been a frequent contributor to the Rowan Magazines for over a decade.  From Rowan 36 published in the fall of 2004 we are please to present Lars, a wonderful cabled pullover knit in Rowan's discontinued Plaid yarn.  Plaid is a chunky weight blend of alpaca, wool, and acrylic that knits up quickly and is incredibly soft.  Lars shows the yarn off perfectly - such is Martin's talent for design.  The rag effect of the three different strands making up Plaid creates a sophisticated yet casual look.  Lars combines ribbed sleeves with an allover cable pattern on the front and back to create a totally huggable sweater.  The color in this offer is Bramble (157), a rich blend of eggplant, deep fuchsia, and purple..  Perfect for fall and winter. The sweater features simple shaping, set in sleeves, and a simple crew neckline.  The pattern can be made in any of 5 sizes -- S (chest/bust 38), M (chest/bust 40), L (chest/bust 42), XL (chest/bust 44), or XXL (chest/bust 46).  The pattern specifies a gauge of 11 stitches and 15 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) on US 11 (8 mm) needles.  The design will work up quickly and become an instant classic in your winter wardrobe or make it as the perfect holiday gift for the man in your life.

Rowan plaid was discontinued several years ago and finding sufficient quantities in the same dye lot can prove difficult.
Kit Contents:  A copy of the pattern and (10) 100 gram balls of Plaid in same dye lot to complete the garment in any of the sizes. The largest size takes 9 balls so you will have plenty of yarn for a hat as well. We can supply 2 additional balls in the same lot if required - maybe a scarf to go with the sweater?
As with all of our Rare Rowan kits, this pack has been carefully stored in a non-smoking home, and these vintage yarns and fabric will arrive to you in pristine condition. We stock our kits in two locations and only ship on weekends from Katy Texas.
