    Description

    The Praetorian Guard was feared amongst enemies of Rome as well as Roman citizens. Their skill on the horse made them even more intimidating on the battlefield. This Roman Praetorian Shield has a core of poplar wood and is bound in tight linen. It is rimmed in brass and fitted with a central brass shield boss. The grip is rounded with two semi-circle halves of wood for a more comfortable grip. Its face was hand painted to finish the shield.
    This shield is shipped without the shield boss attached - some assembly required, mounting hardware is included.
    Please Note: it is common for this item to have patination on the brass shield rim and shield boss - it can be cleaned to a bright sheen with polishing paste and scuff pads.
