Brandon Mably joined the Kaffe Fassett Studio in 1991 and quickly developed an international reputation for graphic, playful designs brimming with color. "Badly Drawn Sweater" was first published in Rowan Knitting Magazine 35 in the Spring of 2004. Classic Mably, this sweater combines a fun graphic design with interposed cool and warm colors to create a wonderful, masculine pullover. Brandon blends light to mid blues with gold, pale sage green, tan, and purple to create this beach inspired summer colorway. Knit in Rowan Summer Tweed, the sweater is knit from a chart using the intarsia technique and features set in sleeves and simple ribbed borders. The design is rated for intermediate knitters and is suitable for anyone who is familiar with intarsia knitting. The pattern can be made in any of five sizes -- small for a 38" chest, medium for a 40" chest, large for a 42" chest, xlarge for a 44" chest, and xxlarge for a 46" chest. Our kit contains all the summer tweed you require to complete the sweater in Brandon's original colors. Rowan Summer Tweed is a beautiful aran weight blend of 70% silk and 30% cotton and knits up quickly. The patterns calls for a tension of 16 stitches and 23 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) on US 8 (5mm) needles.
